A New Christian
Hi! Here are some things that God, your Friend, wants you to know:
In God’s book, the Bible, He says that He loves you.
For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life.
John chapter 3, verse 16.
God also says in Matthew chapter 19 verse 14
Let the children come to me and do not stop them.
We all do and think wrong things, called sin, sometimes. Jesus, God’s Son, willingly took the punishment for these sins. He did this when He died on the cross. God will forgive us for the wrong things we do and think, and His Spirit will be in our lives helping us to do what is right when we ask Him to. It is as easy as ABC!
ADMIT your sin.
Everyone has sinned.
Romans chapter 3, verse 23.
BELIEVE that Jesus died to save you from the consequences of sin.
Christ died for sins once and for all, a good man on behalf of sinners, in order to lead you to God.
1 Peter chapter 3, verse 18.
COME TO JESUS and say sorry to Him for the wrongs you have done and ask Him to forgive you and change your lifestyle to one which pleases Him.
If we confess our sins to God, He will forgive us our sins and purify us from all our wrongdoing.
1 John chapter 1, verse 9
Now if you believe these Bible verses and take the three steps as in ABC then Jesus will come into your life, and you will become God’s child and be part of His family.
To those who received and believed in Him, He gave the right to become God’s children.
John chapter 1, verse 12.
To stay close to Jesus we need to do four things:
1. Read a little from the Bible every day. You could start reading the Gospel of John or use Topz, Snapshots or XTB to help. Your CE leader will help with this.
2. Confess any wrong doing to Jesus straight away and ask His forgiveness. We don’t become perfect all at once! Talk to God every day. You can share everything with your new Friend. Thank Him for His love and help.
3. Keep attending CE, Sunday School and Church to learn more.
4. Tell someone else about Jesus.
