Tobacco
Tobacco is a plant imported into the United Kingdom. It is a widely used drug, it is usually smoked as cigarettes or in a pipe. It is a stimulant drug containing the drug nicotine. Also in a cigarette there are over 4000 chemicals including nicotine, tar, polonium and carbon monoxide.
Smoking is addictive and people can become dependent on it. It is a costly habit, it makes clothes, rooms and breath smell.
Smoking has been shown to relate to diseases such as lung cancer, heart disease, high blood pressure and lung infections. Smoking affects the skin causing wrinkles.
Smoking is one of the biggest killers in the United Kingdom. There is also a risk to non smokers through passive smoking. Today there are restrictions in the places where smoking can take place.
It is illegal for anyone to buy cigarettes under the age of 18 years old.
