Young People's Christian Endeavour
Young People’s Christian Endeavour (YPCE) is a Christ-centred, church-based organisation for young people aged thirteen upwards. It aims to lead them to accept Jesus Christ as their Saviour and to bring them into the life and fellowship of the local church.
In the weekly meeting each YP is given opportunities for worship, fellowship and training. A flexible approach is used so that the content and variety of presentation of the programme can meet the spiritual needs of young Christians and retain the interest of those who have not yet given their life to Christ.
Today’s young people are looking for fellowship, fun and challenge and YPCE provides all these and more. In the supportive setting of the weekly meeting, young Christians study the Bible and are encouraged to pray for and with others. Social events, residential weekends, Bible quizzes etc. provide opportunities to meet young people from other areas.
Young people are encouraged to discover the gifts which God has given them and to develop them for use in Christ's service. A National Award Scheme which is started in the Junior grade can be completed in the YP grade. It leads to awards at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels.
Many who have come up through YPCE go into Christian service as ministers, missionaries, lay preachers, youth leaders etc.
